Sale offered on Las Vegas packages

A vacation packaging company is offering a sale on trips to 30 Las Vegas properties in January and February.
The Phoenix-based Leisure Co., through America West Vacations, is offering packages with round-trip air travel on America West or Continental airlines and hotel accommodations with optional car rental or ground transportation transfers.
America West Vacations is a brand of the Leisure Co., a subsidiary of the holding company that owns America West Airlines.
John Bruce, a spokesman for the Leisure Co., said the amount of price reductions is based on city-by-city reviews and analyses of the percentage of seats filled on flights. On one package listed as an example, a stay at the Riviera hotel-casino and a round-trip flight from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Las Vegas was discounted $120 to $189 for two nights.
Bruce said the sale is a push to increase travel in the winter months. It's also a competitive effort against Las Vegas-based National Airlines, which introduced its National Vacations package product late last month.
