Paint remover vandals still sought
Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000 | 10:13 a.m.
Authorities said the vandals caused an estimated $16,000 in damage and the cars will need new paint jobs.
The county cars were used by the district attorney's office and the city cars wre used by public works and community development employees.
The vandalism occurred early Monday at separate downtown parking lots.
In a similar case last month, vandals damaged several police vehicles in the department's fenced lot behind the main station.
"It takes a real brave person to walk by an unoccupied parked car and spray it with paint remover," District Attorney Richard Gammick said. "It's a real mark of manliness."
