LAUGHLIN -- Bank of America customers in Laughlin will, for now, have to cross a state line to perform in-branch banking.
On Tuesday, B of A closed its Laughlin branch at 1975 South Casino Drive, and relocated customer accounts across the Colorado River to 1755 Lakeside Drive in Bullhead City, Ariz. The bank's drive-thru and walk-up ATMs remain operational.
B of A Executive Vice President Steve Cortopassi said more than 50 percent of Laughlin branch customers live in the Bullhead City area. Despite the move, Cortopassi said customer accounts will remain Nevada-based due to tax law differences between the states.
And cross-river banking will be short-lived. Cortopassi said the bank plans to open an in-store branch in Laughlin's new Smith's Food & Drug supermarket later this month.
