LV construction firm files for bankruptcy

Las Vegas real estate and construction firm the Horn Company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The dollar amount of the company's assets and debts wasn't listed in the filing.
President Eric Horn said "filing for reorganization of debts is a practical necessity to preserve a specific asset of the company. We expect to satisfy all commitments -- 100 percent -- within a short period of time and continue normal operations."
Company spokeswoman Sharon Rorman said the asset referred to was a 5-acre parcel of undeveloped land near the intersection of Interstate 15 and Industrial Road, north of Blue Diamond Road.
Founded in 1987, the Horn Company has built about 500 Las Vegas homes in addition to commmercial, industrial and recreational properties.
