Drivers of wind-tossed trucks face citations
Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000 | 10:14 a.m.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeff Bowers said the drivers ignored posted wind restrictions Monday in Washoe Valley and will be cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
A third truck was blown over on Interstate 80 west of Reno, but the driver won't be cited.
No injuries were reported in the accidents, which were triggered by wind gusts of more than 60 mph.
Both trucks in Washoe Valley were with empty trailers. Crews had to wait until winds died down to upright them.
