The Las Vegas Silver Bandits (10-10) completed a perfect road trip Sunday night with a 107-105 overtime win over the Stingrays (3-12) at the San Diego Sports Arena. The Silver Bandits have won an International Basketball League-best seven straight games and will play the Cincinnati Stuff at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Las Vegas, which overcame an 11-point San Diego lead after the third quarter, outscored the Stingrays 31-20 in the fourth quarter. Silver Bandits guard Isaac Burton hit a running shot from the middle of the lane with two seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 98 and send it into overtime. It was the third time in five meetings with San Diego that the two have played overtime. The Silver Bandits are now 4-1 when playing in overtime.
"This was the best scenario for us. Sweeping the long road trip and coming home at .500," said Silver Bandits head coach Rolland Todd. "We overcame some obstacles and just wanted the game more, I guess."
After they host Cincinnati Wednesday, the Silver Bandits will take on New Mexico at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas & Mack.
J.R. Henderson led the Silver Bandits in scoring with 21 points and seven rebounds Sunday. Burton finished with 18 points and a game-high 13 assists. DeeAndre Hulett added 16 points.
