Resort may change name to add affiliate

The Resort at Summerlin is considering changing its name to Regent Las Vegas to better highlight its affiliation with Regent International, which operates some of the world's finest hotels.
The resort's two hotel towers -- the Regent Grand Spa and Regent Grand Palms -- already carry the brand name. But executives at resort owner Seven Circle Resorts believe a more prominent display of the Regent brand will help boost business from upscale customers.
The $300 million Resort at Summerlin has been hurt by construction problems that delayed the opening of one 255-room tower until this week.
The other tower and some of the resort's facilities debuted last July, but the lack of a full complement of amenities precluded a full-scale marketing effort.
