Memorial wears on Reno homeowners

Friends and family of Freddy Weichers have installed a cross and scrawled numerous messages on a guardrail and street near where he was killed in Stead.
But nearby homeowners said the memorial marks the entrance to their subdivision and they're getting tired of the graffiti.
"I've lost a child so I know the grief," said Vicki Young, who owns a new home in the Sky Vista development. "But it is getting out of hand ... They need to take their grief to the mortuary or the cemetery."
But Bridgette Ginn, 17, who grew up with Weichers, reacted with anger to homeowners' request.
"Someone did get hit out there. Someone did die out there," she said. "I can guarantee that it's never going to stop. I don't call it graffiti. I call it love."
