Letter: Same-sex marriages aren’t a matter for government

Apparently Ziser doesn't believe in personal freedoms. I wonder how he would react if someone were attempting to deny him a personal choice that he felt was right for him. It is not up to the government to tell us who we must marry any more than it is the government's responsibility to tell us who we cannot marry.
If this initiative actually makes it as far as to get on the ballot, I hope the voters of Nevada are intelligent enough to soundly reject it. If not, we may as well go backward another 100 years and deny rights to women, reinstate slavery and persecute people for their religious beliefs. After which, of course, I will move to a state where intelligence prevails.
Mr. Ziser, welcome to the 21st century, where bias and bigotry will not be tolerated. You are entitled to your beliefs. Just keep them to yourself, don't try to impose them on the thinking public.
