Services for a 72-year-old school crossing guard fatally injured in a Nov. 23 accident will be held Friday.
Services for Shirley Rizzo will be 2:30 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road.
Rizzo was working at Wigwam Parkway and Valle Verde Drive next to Greenspun Junior High School when she was hit from behind by a Ford Mustang driven by a 16-year-old girl, Henderson Police said. The teen told police the sun was in her eyes and she didn't see Rizzo.
Rizzo's family decided to take her off of life support Monday. Once life support was turned off, she quickly died, police said.
The case will be forwarded to the Clark County district attorney's office to determine if any charges should be filed against the 16-year-old girl, police said.
