Cop killer found dead

Frank Harrington, 32, who was paroled 10 years ago, was found near the Kirman Street bridge on Wednesday by three people taking a walk.
An autopsy didn't reveal how he died. Toxicology tests will determine whether drugs were involved.
Twenty-two years ago, Harrington and his then 20-year-old brother, Lloyd, escaped unharmed in a gunfight with a Caliente police officer at the small town's courthouse. The officer, Craig Love, died from a bullet that just missed his protective vest and hit him in the throat.
Hours before he was shot, Love had arrested the Harringtons' cousin during a traffic stop. Frank Harrington allegedly had run from the vehicle before he could be arrested. He then returned to the police station with a gun and his brother.
A jury found the two guilty of second-degree murder. Lloyd Harrington was paroled from state prison in 1984. He now lives in California and is married to a parole officer.
Frank Harrington was released from prison in 1989 and was under lifetime supervision by the parole and probation department.
