California swimmers sink UNLV men

Despite first-place finishes in four events, the UNLV men's swim team began the new year with a 125-77 loss Wednesday to the University of California at Buchanan Natatorium.
UNLV's Jacint Simon posted wins in the 200 free (1:51.46) and 200 fly (2:06.18) while Bobby Middleton recorded a victory in the 200 breast with a mark of 2:20.45. UNLV's other win came in the 400 free relay. The Rebels men's and women's teams will head to Florida to compete in Saturday's Florida Atlantic Invitational, where they will compete against schools including Nebraska, Iowa, New Mexico, and Texas A&M.
