Komatsu America International Co. plans to open a 102,400-square-foot distribution center in North Las Vegas.
Komatsu signed a 10-year lease with ProLogis, owner of the Las Vegas Corporate Center. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The distribution center at 3010 Alexander Road will initially employ between 40 and 50 people.
Komatsu expects to move into the center in the second quarter of this year. The company plans to use the building to deliver construction equipment parts to distributors throughout North America, and carry stock to meet same-day orders from West Coast distributors.
Headquartered in Vernon Hills, Ill., Komatsu currently operates Komatsu Equipment Co., a separate company in North Las Vegas.
