Reno police have trouble with parking tickets
Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000 | 9:50 a.m.
The Reno Police Department's computerized parking ticket writers did not function properly, said Richard Vandenberg, director of the city's information services.
But it didn't result in any breaks for motorists at expired meters in town. Officers resorted to the old-fashioned pen-and-paper methods for writing those parking tickets, he said.
No problems were reported related to emergency dispatch, city billing, payroll, e-mail, traffic lights, sewer systems or any other city computer systems, he said.
