Gibbons taking his office on statewide tour
Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000 | 10:24 a.m.
Rep. Jim Gibbons is taking his show on the road.
Gibbons, R-Nev., has instituted what he is calling "a statewide mobile office tour" to better serve his constituents, especially those in the smaller communities.
"Representing one of the largest and most populous congressional districts in the country is one of the unique and exciting challenges that I face in my job," Gibbons said. "(A) constituent outreach program is a top priority for me.
"This statewide mobile office tour is yet another way for our office to accomplish (the goal of) accessibility and effectiveness for our constituents."
The mobile office will help people with concerns about legislation before Congress, assist those who are having difficulties with federal agencies, take U.S. flag orders and assist travelers with tours of Washington D.C., among other issues.
Gibbons said people using the mobile office will get to meet with members of his staff to discuss issues such as nuclear waste, Social Security and national security, among other topics.
Here are some of the Southern Nevada stops for the mobile office:
