Class scheduled on plastic surgery questions
St. Rose Dominican Hospital is offering a free class to help those considering plastic surgery to determine if they are viable candidates.
The four-week seminar will be held 6:30-8 p.m. beginning Wednesday.
St. Rose also is offering a free six-week program called PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise), designed specifically to teach those with arthritis how to exercise. Join PACE 9-10 a.m. beginning Wednesday through Feb. 9.
Both programs will be held at the Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence, 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite No. 140. For more information or to confirm a seat for any of the upcoming classes, call 914-7060.
Classes designed for Spanish-speaking patients
Hispanic individuals with diabetes or those Hispanic individuals who have a loved one with the disease can attend a Diabetes Fair from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, 102 E. Lake Mead Drive.
This fair will address the crucial do's and don'ts of controlling diabetes and will feature information -- all in Spanish -- as well as interpreters to answer questions. For further information, contact Stade at 564-4727.
Summerlin Hospital joins forces with UBS
Summerlin Hospital is partnering with United Blood Services to hold a community blood drive between 7:30 and noon Thursday at the hospital in order to help ensure the community has an adequate supply of blood into the new year.
All donors will be rewarded with a T-shirt featuring United Blood Services' year 2000 theme, "Blood shortage? Not in our town." Call 233-7545 for more information.
CPR Workshop
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a free CPR and First-Aid workshop 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road. Call 565-2880.
Immunization
Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 21 in any of four public health centers and 36 satellite clinics. The following clinics will be open this week, Jan. 5 - 11:
