Livia 'Libby' Deshon
Livia "Libby" Deshon, 63, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born July 11, 1936, in Fall River, Mass. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ray; two sons, Stephan Deshon of Virginia Beach, Va., and David Deshon of Pueblo, Colo.; one daughter, Diane Deshon-Paprocki of Rochester, Minn.; three sisters, Ejilda Witherill of Needham, Mass., Dora Garvey of Lakewood, N.J., and Clara Witham of Wayland, Mass.; and seven grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Arthur P. Kotowski
Arthur P. Kotowski, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1926, in West Frankfort, Ill. A resident for nine years, he was a retired dairyman.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol A. Banner of Glenview, Ill., and Mary Ann Hess of Atascadero, Calif.; one son, William T. Kushnerik of Oak Lawn, Ill.; one sister, Delores Rhode of Santa Maria, Calif.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Madeline Ladd
Madeline Ladd, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born March 16, 1917, in Paulding County, Ohio. A resident for 24 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Joy Waller of Las Vegas and Norma Ladd of Yelm, Wash.; two sons, Kenneth Ladd of Hicksville, Ohio, and William Ladd of Urbana, Ohio; three sisters, Betty Wilks, Clarice DeMongoet and Carol Shidler, all of Antwerp, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Truus Charlotte O'Donnell
Truus Charlotte O'Donnell, 75, of Las Vegas died Dec. 26 in a local hospital. She was born July 9, 1924, in Holland. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired interior designer.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Balfour of Michigan and Glen O'Donnell of Florida; five daughters, Judi Rabin of Las Vegas, Nancy Craft of California, Bonnie Schmotzer of New York and Lynne O'Donnell and Wendy Rodriquiz, both of Florida; one sister, Gerda Bradford of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Melissa Kay Quentin
Melissa Kay Quentin, 58, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born May 29, 1941, in New York City. A resident for three years, she was a retired businesswoman who worked as a controller for Universal Elevator Corp. for many years.
She is survived by her mother, Anna Berman of Las Vegas.
Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial followed in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests donations to the Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer, 3201 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 512, Las Vegas, NV 89109.
Douglas Reed Sorenson
Douglas Reed Sorenson, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 2, 1929, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired trust officer, a veteran of the Army Reserves from 1950-1956, a member of the Delta Phi Fraternity, Optimist Club, Toastmasters, Las Vegas Fremont Rotary Club, Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council, Boy Scouts of America and Bank of America Retirees and was a high priest in the LDS Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maurine C.; two daughters, Karen S. Campbell and Lisa S. Ritholz, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Marilyn S. Miller of Park City, Utah, Ruth S. Ward of Sandy, Utah, and Louise S. Jones of Midvale, Utah; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Wednesday in the Grand Canyon Ward-Alexander and El Capitan.
The family suggests donations to the ALS Association-Nevada Chapter, 4913 W. Craig Road, No. 382, Las Vegas, NV 89130 or Family Home Hospice, P.O. Box 15645, Las Vegas, NV 89114-5645.
Clyde F. Traufler Sr.
Clyde F. Traufler Sr., 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 28, 1932, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired installer for a mobile home company and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Darleen Hoerner and Sally Shriver, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Clyde Traufler Jr. and Jeffrey Traufler, both of Las Vegas and Danny Gierszewski of Buffalo; four brothers, and seven sisters, all of Buffalo; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
