Letter: Give Africanized killer bees a shot of soap and water

Although my main focus is math and computers -- I'm a computer technician at the Community College of Southern Nevada -- I have an interest in just about everything under the sun (and spend all my time reading), so I'd like to help.
In a November 1989 article written by M.T. Sanford of the Department of Entomology and Nematology of the University of Florida, the formula was given as one cup of dishwashing detergent in a gallon of water, applied via a sprayer.
Incidentally, the detergent in the water reduces surface tension, thus allowing the solution to penetrate the bees' spiracles (breathing holes) whereupon they suffocate.
