Downtown stymied by financial difficulties

Officials say high land prices, blighted conditions and limited financial incentives have all worked against redevelopment of downtown Las Vegas.
The observation was raised Monday in a meeting of city council members and the City Centre Development Corp., the city's redevelopment arm.
Mayor Oscar Goodman has made downtown redevelopment one of his key goals.
