UNLV standout Linda Frohlich has been named to the GTE Academic All-District VIII Women's Basketball Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday.
Frohlich, a sophomore from Oldendorf, Germany, was named to the third team with a career grade point average of 3.50. One of only two sophomores to make any of the three teams, she currently leads the Mountain West Conference in both scoring and rebounding.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA, must be a starter or significant contributor and be in at least a second season of competition at their current school.
The teams were voted on by members of CoSIDA from a field of 58 candidates from 23 different schools. Region VIII consists of California, Hawaii, Alaska, British Columbia, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and Utah.
