Letter: Give public chance to fight off bees
Friday, Feb. 25, 2000 | 8:58 a.m.
More and more I'm informed through media about the ever-increasing problem of these killer bees. And lately at the same time I'm also hearing about this soap and water formula that stuns, stalls or kills these bees. And when this problem increases as projected there won't be enough professionals to handle it effectively. And the waiting time for help for a problem that can be life-threatening will surely increase.
So why can't this formula be shared, through the media, for the public? Just, for instance, for landscaping employees, gardeners, children and parents in their own back yards or parks. We need an ace up our sleeve, if only to give us the time to get out of harm's way. Then we can call the professionals to do what they do best.
We need the help to help ourselves, since this problem is increasing every moderate season we have. And we're told they're here to stay.
