Funeral set for prominent Reno lawyer

RENO -- A funeral mass is set for Monday for Clark J. Guild Jr., a prominent Reno lawyer and who served as chairman of the board of Southwest Gas Co., before his retirement.
He died at his home Tuesday. He was 78.
Guild was active in numerous civic activities, such as United Way, the American Heart Association and the Reno Y.M.C.A.
Born in Yerington on May 14, 1921, he graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1942 and gained his law degree from Georgetown University in 1948.
He served as an assistant attorney general and was a member of the board of regents of the University of Nevada and Community College. He was president of the Washoe County Bar Association from 1959 to 1960.
He also was a founding member of the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.
