Currently: McTyer has been the Horned Frogs' primary ball-handler for most of the 1999-2000 season, starting 22 of his team's 28 games thus far. His 4.1 assists-per-game average is tops among TCU players, and he has also contributed 5.9 points per game and 54 rebounds.
Looking back: The 5-11 McTyer was a dominant local player as a high school senior, averaging 18.6 points and eight assists en route to the Sun's State Player of the Year award. He helped the Trailblazers to back-to-back state titles in 1995 and '96.
