Domaine Le Sang des Cailloux
Sometimes the classification of French wines can be confusing as this hard-to-pronounce wine attests to. Vacqueyras is a village in southern France on the Rhone. The wines it produces were given their own appellation in 1990. This deep red, concentrated wine is all Grenache, a wild, spicy grape that is the principal ingredient in more prestigious wines such as Chateauneuf-du-Pape. This wine tastes of cranberries and smoke. It should improve in the bottle for a few more years.
