Bandits to help ailing boy
Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000 | 11:25 a.m.
The Las Vegas Silver Bandits have proclaimed March 4 "Chris Smith Night" for the Silver Bandits' game against the Richmond Rhythm.
Chris Smith is a fifth-grader at Dailey Elementary School who has a rare form of spinal meningitis that until recently had not been treatable. With his current medication, Chris's chances of survival have improved greatly. His medicine costs run approximately $500 a day.
The Silver Bandits will donate 50 percent of the price of every ticket bought through advance and game-day sales for the game to the Smith family so they can afford the medication. Tickets for the game can be purchased by calling 938-3838 or by logging on to www.tickets.com.
