LV travel company opens new call center

Las Vegas-based Lowestfare.com, a discount travel company, has opened a new call center in Kent, Wash.
The company said today the 38,000-square-foot facility was opened with 142 employees and the facility will have 250 by the middle of 2000. The company's Las Vegas call center has 550 employees.
The company said a 26 percent increase in the number of calls necessitated the new call center. The company recently acquired Jetset Tours and Maupintour Inc.
Lowestfare.com has agreements with more than 440 airlines, 43,000 hotels and with most major car rental companies, cruise lines and tour package operators.
