A Bellevue, Wash., online healthcare services provider acquired a Las Vegas firm, Nevada Health Information Network, to grow its market share in Nevada.
Pointshare Corp., a company with 120 employees, plans to add three new positions to the two-employee Las Vegas operation by the end of 2000.
Pointshare said it will bring more online services to physicians, hospitals and health plans through its intranet site Nevadahealth.net.
The company offers online services that simplify administration by helping medical service providers securely exchange clinical and administrative information on a private intranet network.
Pointshare said its online services allow users to manage and track physician referrals, verify patient eligibility, order supplies and receive lab and hospital reports, while protecting patient confidentiality.
