Kathryne H. Ayres
Kathryne H. Ayres, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 10, 1913, in Cairo, W.Va. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired telephone company clerk.
She is survived by one daughter, KC Graves of Las Vegas; one son, James V. Ayres of Boulder City; one sister, Madalyne Elvington of Barndahl, Okla.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 12:30 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
The family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 3441 W. Sahara Ave., Suite A-8, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
Vernon Harold 'Tuffy' Benson Jr.
Vernon Harold "Tuffy" Benson Jr., 48, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 4, 1951, in Los Angeles. A resident for 12 years, he was a newspaper company paper handler.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore; one son, Vernon Marcel Benson III; four daughters, Ericka Denise Benson, Tamara Vashawn Benson, Korie Danielle Benson and Traci Nicholle Benson; one brother, Donald Oliver Benson; two sisters, Durinda Goodwin and Paulette Benson; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. services Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Mona R. Beruff
Mona R. Beruff, 44, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in North Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 26, 1955, in Denver. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Raul B. Jr.; one son, Bernie Roybal, and one daughter, Andrea Pearson, both of North Las Vegas; her parents, Elizabeth and Harold Garcia, and three sisters, Barb Labotto, Bev Garcia and Phil Garcia, all of Denver.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Blair Anthony Busching
Blair Anthony Busching, 47, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 14, 1952, in California. A resident for one year, he was a laborer.
He is survived by his mother, Pearl Busching of Captain Hook, Hawaii; and two brothers, Dean Busching and Craig Busching, both of Hawaii.
Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Ray W. Greene Sr.
Ray W. Greene Sr., 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 30, 1929, in Sanford, Maine. A resident for four years, he was a retired hotel executive chef.
He is survived by four daughters, Carol Horne of Alameda, Calif., Susan Maher and Irene Knapp, both of Torrington, Conn., and Penny Perez of Colchester, Conn.; six sons, Michael Greene Sr. and Charles Greene, both of Las Vegas, Richard Greene of South Africa, Joseph Greene and John Greene, both of Torrington, and Ray W. Greene Jr. of Williamsburg, Va.; one sister, Patricia Eckmier, and one brother, Warren Greene, both of Tampa, Fla.; 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Qwyn L. Hammack
Qwyn L. Hammack, 24, of Pahrump died Thursday in Pahrump. She was born Dec. 12, 1975, in Las Vegas. A resident for one year, she was a substitute teacher for Mount Charleston Elementary School.
She is survived by one son, Sebastian Goddard of Las Vegas; her mother and stepfather, Vicki and Joe Benizio of Pahrump; her father and stepmother, Daniel and Denise Hammack of Las Vegas; one sister, Casey Hammack of Pahrump; two stepbrothers, Chris Benizio and Jacob Hammack, both of Las Vegas; her grandparents, Leland and Bobbye Stewart and Dorothy Hammack, her great-grandmother, Vida Henderson, all of Las Vegas; her nephew, Cole Hammack of Pahrump; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.
Services are scheduled 2 p.m. Sunday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 Calvada Blvd.
Mary L. Harvey
Mary L. Harvey, 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 27, 1910, in Tensas Parish, La. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Memorial Gardens. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.
Emily V. Hastings
Emily V. Hastings, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born July 4, 1926, in Long Branch, N.J. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Huver of Las Vegas and Veronica Sims of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, Kenneth Andrews of Yucaipa, Calif., and Jay Hastings of Las Vegas; one sister, Ellen Galasso of New York; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.
Darwin Hoskin
Darwin Hoskin, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born April 22, 1937, in Wellsville, Utah. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired radiation-safety engineer for the Atomic Energy Commission and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Kenneth Hoskin, Charles Hoskin and Michael Hoskin, three brothers, Clarence Hoskin, Edwin Hoskin and Jerry Hoskin, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Alta Pace of Beaver, Utah, Charlene Pierce and Janice Lewis, both of Salt Lake City, and Bertha Clark of Ogden, Utah; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Saturday in the LDS Lorenzi chapel, 221 Lorenzi St. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Wanda Humphreys
Wanda Humphreys, 78, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Fort Worth, Texas. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired entertainer.
She is survived by one brother, Earl Humphreys of Rockwall, Texas; one niece, Lynn Weaver of Las Vegas; three nephews, Ryan Humphreys of San Francisco, Sean Humphreys of Rockwall and Sam Leavitt of Las Vegas.

Esther Rena Johnson
Esther Rena Johnson, 87, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born July 12, 1912, in Indianapolis. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker and a Sunday school teacher with Southern Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Edmond Johnson of Las Vegas; one daughter, Sally M. Sowl of Virginia City; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be noon Monday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
Fontella E. Johnson
Fontella E. Johnson, 72, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 23, 1927, in St. Louis. A resident for eight years, she was a retired teacher and a member of Zeta Phi Beta.
She is survived by one son, Stephen Preston of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Emma Jones
Emma Jones, 88, of North Las Vegas died Jan. 30 in a local care center. She was born Feb. 22, 1911, in Shreveport, La. A resident for six years, she was a retired hotel guest room attendant.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty of North Las Vegas, Elizabeth of Nevada and Dorothy of California; one son, Jimmy of California; one brother; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dario E. Lopez
Dario E. Lopez, 21, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 19, 1978, in California. A resident for many years, he was a mechanic.
He is survived by his mother, Maria DeJesus Velazquez, and three sisters, Estella Lopez, Maria Velazquez and Cyntia Ortiz, all of Las Vegas.
Burial will be in Mexico. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.
Olgita DeCastro Marino
Olgita DeCastro Marino, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Los Angeles. A cousin of the three original DeCastro Sisters, she permanently joined the singing group after Babette DeCastro retired and performed with them for Capitol Records and 20th Century Fox. She performed with the group at the Stardust hotel-casino in October.
She is survived by one brother, Robert Perez of Goshen, Conn.; and two sisters, Cherie DeCastro of Las Vegas and Peggy DeCastro Carricaburu of Santa Barbara, Calif.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be noon Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Angus A. McPhillips
Angus A. McPhillips, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1923, in Detroit. A resident for 39 years, he was retired from the U.S. Geological Survey and was a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by one sister, Annie Bell of Las Vegas; and one brother, John McPhillips of Henderson.

Alice Wilson Neville
Alice Wilson Neville, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born July 14, 1903, in Brush Hollow, Colo. A resident for 53 yeas, she retired in 1973 as a payroll clerk at Hoover Dam after 25 years and was a longtime volunteer at the Boulder City Senior Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary N. Kubiak of Boulder City; one granddaughter, Leslie Welsh of Kailua, Hawaii; two grandsons, Robert Welsh of Honolulu and Mick Kubiak of New York City; and one great-grandson, Sam Benzing of Kailua.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
The family suggests donations to the Boulder City Senior Center.
Dorothy Phillips
Dorothy Phillips, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born April 22, 1914, in Beloit, Wis. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired art consultant and past worthy matron of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Kemp of Las Vegas; one son, Lodner Phillips of Niles, Mich.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Kathleen 'Jean' Roe
Kathleen "Jean" Roe, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 14, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bruce; two sons, Dennis Roe of Bozeman, Mont., and Tom Roe of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Michelle Roe of Boise, Idaho; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Donald Ray Wheelhouse
Donald Ray Wheelhouse, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 7, 1928, in Crookston, Minn. A resident for nine years, he was a retired schoolteacher, a World War II Air Force veteran and a member of the Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Violet; two daughters, Rowena Gesick of Virginia Beach, Va., and Aurelia Razon of Jacksonville, Fla.; and his mother, Myrtle Wheelhouse of Crookston, Minn.
Services and burial will be in Minnesota. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.
Rose Ann Whiteside
Rose Ann Whiteside, 104, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 14, 1895, in Illinois. A resident for 59 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Rose Kopp of Las Vegas; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
