Amber Bonds / Palo Verde Panther mascot
Year: Junior
Family: Father Al; mother Anita
Contribution to prep sports: Bonds dons the Palo Verde Panther costume for all home football and basketball games, encouraging the crowd to show its support and dancing with the cheerleading squad. At the moment, she looks more like a house cat than a Panther, thanks to the mysterious disappearance of the Panther's head during a recent game with Cheyenne. "The head got stolen off the bleachers, so Cheyenne promised to buy us a new outfit for next year," Bonds said. As for which sport she enjoys more, Bonds has a practical response. "It's really hot inside (the costume), so football is better because it's outside," she said.
