Katie B. Awtrey, 83, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 24, 1916, in Oklahoma. A resident for several months, she was a beautician.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Harris of Henderson.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Knoxville, Tenn. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Vernon Harold 'Tuffy' Benson Jr.
Vernon Harold "Tuffy" Benson Jr., 48, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 4, 1951, in Los Angeles. A resident for 12 years, he was a newspaper company paper handler.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore; one son, Vernon Marcel Benson III; four daughters, Ericka Denise Benson, Tamara Vashawn Benson, Korie Danielle Benson and Traci Nicholle Benson; one brother, Donald Oliver Benson; two sisters, Durinda Goodwin and Paulette Benson; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until noon services Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Grace Fortmuller
Grace Fortmuller, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, she was a retired medical records clerk for the business office at the former Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital
She is survived by her husband, Vincent C.; two sons, Gerard Fortmuller and Donald J. Fortmuller; two daughters, Margaret A. DeMarco and Karen G. Mangual; one sister, Irene Ryan; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

London Blue Fox
London Blue Fox, 2, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 30, 1997, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by one sister, Kacie Michelle Nicole Fox, one uncle, Christopher Fox, and her grandparents, Deborah and James Fox, all of Las Vegas; and her great-grandmother, Mattie McCubbins of Louisville, Ky.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 6 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Gordon J. Franzen, 85, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Crystal Lake, Ill. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired layout person for a tool company.
He is survived by his wife, Marie H.; one daughter, Jean Strayer of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ronald E. Gholson
Ronald E. Gholson, 56, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 3, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. A resident for 28 years, he was a block mason in the construction industry, a Vietnam War Army veteran, a member of the Elks, Laborers Union and Southern Nevada Studebakers Club.
He is survived by one daughter, Debra Thomas of Mount Pleasant; one son, Bruce Gholson of Las Vegas; one brother, Richard Smith of Bloomfield, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Elks Lodge 2353, 2939 Vandermeer St. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Paul J. Huber
Paul J. Huber, 81, of North Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 5, 1918, in Canton, Ohio. a resident for 44 years, he was a cabinetmaker for the Boyd Corp., a World War II Air Force veteran who retired after 20 years of service, a member of Sincerity Masonic Lodge of Niles, Ohio, and the Order of the Eastern Star in Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife, Clarice; two daughters, Cheryl K. Hartle and Paulette Taylor, both of Las Vegas; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Virginia Johnson
Virginia Johnson, 54, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A resident for several months, she was born Sept. 20, 1945.

Moses Kupperman
Moses Kupperman, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 15, 1918, in New York. A resident for six years, he was a butcher and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; two sons, Alvin and Michael, both of California; one brother, Irving Kupperman of New York; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 8:30 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Marjorie Eulyla Peterson Lease
Marjorie Eulyla Peterson Lease, 92, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 10, 1908, in Volin, S.D. A resident for 38 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the National Association of Radiation Survivors and the Nevada Test Site Radiation Victims.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Happy"; and one son, Russell Duane Lease.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Witkop of Parker, Colo., and Bonnie McDaniel of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-noon Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

Florence E. Lloyd, 81, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born March 18, 1918, in Anniston, Ala. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, JoAnn Barje of Henderson; two sons, Bill Harrell of Henderson and Lynn Lloyd of Temecula, Calif.; two sisters, Grace Pittman of Morgan City, Ala., and Ola Mae Honeycutt of Anniston, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Carole R. Puhl, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 25, 1939, in Montezuma, Iowa. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce; one daughter, Alison Puhl-Thompson, one son, Brian Puhl, and her mother, Ruth Allely, all of Las Vegas; her father, Cullen Lair of Iowa; one sister, Jerrie Hurst of Las Vegas; one brother, Kenneth Lair of Arizona; one stepsister, Shirley Scheopp of Madison, Wis.; and one stepbrother, Jim Allely of Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters, Audrey Roberts of Las Vegas and Tracy Ruck of Henderson; one son, John Roberts of Las Vegas; three sisters, Edith Rinaldi of Las Vegas and Gloria Zappia and Laura Pampino, both of New York; one brother, Rocco Marriota of New York; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Kathleen Roe, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 14, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A resident for 33 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bruce; two sons, Dennis Roe of Bozeman, Mont., and Tom Roe of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Michelle Roe of Boise, Idaho; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Theodore L. Rose, 71, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 14, 1929, in Washington state. A resident for 2 1/2 years, he was a retired Marine Corps gunnery sergeant.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret M.; two sons, Kevin Rose and Steven Rose, both of Barstow, Calif.; three daughters, Karen Lucera of San Antonio and Kathy Rose and Maureen Rose, both of California; one brother, William Rose of Providence, R.I.; one sister, Arlene Connover of Seattle; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Marine Corps base in Barstow. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Bennie Russo, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Victorville, Calif. He was born Aug. 20, 1921, in Lynchburg, Va. A resident for 12 years, he was a carpenter and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly; three sons, Bill Russo of California and Paul Russo and Anthony Russo, both of New York state; one brother, Paul Russo of New Jersey; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. services today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Terry Schoenholzer
Terry Schoenholzer, 52, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A resident for 32 years, he was born Nov. 20, 1947, in Cobre.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Schoenholzer and two sisters, Vicki Terrill and Jackie Schoenholzer, all of Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. A private burial will follow.
George O. Schubert
George O. Schubert, 86, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A self-employed taxicab driver, he was born July 15, 1913, in California.
He is survived by his wife, Leona; two daughters, Rosaline Bowen of Las Vegas and Ollie Olson of San Jose, Calif.; three sons, George Schubert Jr. of Palo Alto, Calif., Wes Jacobi of Newport Beach, Calif., and John Jacobi of Las Vegas; two sisters, Elizabeth Seiple and Bernice Evjenth, both of San Francisco; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Earl Russell Severson, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Connecticut. A resident for 10 years, he was tool and die maker and a veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita "Nita"; three sons, Earl Russell Severson Jr. and D.J. Jackson, both of Las Vegas, and Robert Bruce Severson of Missouri; six daughters, Joy Jackson of Las Vegas, Yolanda Hurtt of Florida, Karen Christain, Judy Severson and Janet Severson, all of Connecticut, and Gail Brown of North Carolina; one sister, Vera Kendal of Oregon; and 22 grandchildren.

Lowell Thomas, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born April 30, 1912, in Idaho. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired set coordinator in the motion picture industry.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; one sister, Erma Yearsley of Idaho; and two brothers, Morris Thomas of Idaho and Dave Thomas of Florida.

Virginia Diana Weir
Virginia Diana Weir, 48, of Henderson died Monday in California. She was born Sept. 24, 1951, in Las Vegas, N.M. A resident for 45 years, she was a Harrah's hotel-casino accounting supervisor.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Neil; one daughter, Neomi Nicole Vereen, one son, Lawrence Neil Weir, her parents, Fabiola and John Ben Fresquez, and three brothers, John Fresquez Jr., Paul Fresquez and Peter Fresquez, all of Henderson; three sisters, Linda Correa of Orlando, Fla., and Annette Fuentes and Joyce Gunn, both of Henderson; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7:30 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Edward F. Wietor
Edward F. Wietor, 57, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 14, 1942, in Baltimore. A resident for 10 years, he was an investment company president and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; one son, Patrick Wietor of Henderson; his father, Lester Wietor of Fond Du Lac, Wis.; and three grandchildren.
