Half inch of rain takes out Vegas streets

Intersections were flooded and some motorists stranded Wednesday night when a thunderstorm swept through the Las Vegas Valley, dumping 0.43 of an inch of rain in some parts of the city.
No major problems were reported.
Some hail was also reported, but was mostly pea-sized, according to Jim Harrison, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
