Baggage handling ginger at Reno airport

Airlines serving the airport have suspended operations by a baggage-handling company after a routine inquiry into the company's records.
Skycap Services of America, based in Orlando, Fla., was hired last year after the contract of Silver State Skycap Services of Reno expired and its owner retired.
Staff from larger airlines assumed curbside duties, while other airlines are instructing passengers to check in at main ticket counters inside the terminal.
The airlines suspended the company to ensure employee background checks required by the Federal Aviation Administration were done to verify the ten-year employment histories of the 25 to 30 employees.
Company President Rick Harrington said all checks were in order and he hopes that the airlines can resolve the issue this week so his people can return to work in time for the busy Presidents' Day weekend.
