Online LV wholesaler adds cruises

Travelscape.com, a Las Vegas-based online travel wholesaler, has added the ability for travelers to book cruise reservations to its website.
Vacationers will be able to book cruises on the site on the Carnival, Holland America and Royal Caribbean lines to Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
Travelscape.com, which earlier this month announced it was acquired by Microsoft Corp.-backed Expedia.com, will use the same format to book cruises as it does for hotel reservations.
Customers can book travel based on destination, month of departure, cruise line or with cruise-air packages.
Terms of the individual agreements with the cruise lines were not disclosed. An independent research company, Schroder & Co., Inc., estimated that cruise tourism has grown to an $11 billion industry since the mid-1960s.
