Letter: Republicans let true colors show
Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000 | 9:14 a.m.
I am one of millions who noticed the disrespectful actions of the elected officials on the other side of the aisle -- not standing or applauding.
At one time that they did stand and applaud, the camera for just a very brief moment was on Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss., which was enough time to observe him giving a hand signal to stand. With this, I feel that their evening actions were pre-planned.
It would have been much better for them to have stayed home and watched the address on television. By attending they only showed their character.
