BYU rallies past Lady Rebels, 98-81

PROVO, Utah -- The BYU women's basketball team used a second-half run to overcome a halftime deficit and defeat UNLV 98-81 Thursday in front of 826 fans at the Marriott Center.
The Lady Rebels (11-10, 3-5 Mountain West Conference) led 44-38 at the intermission, holding the Cougars (15-7, 5-4) to just 39 percent from the field in the first half.
But BYU tied the game at 50 behind a 10-2 scoring run early in the second half and never looked back.
Linda Frohlich led the Rebels with 31 points, including 19 in the second half. Freshman Constance Jinks chipped in with 16 and dished out six assists.
Stacy Jensen led a balanced attack by the Cougars, scoring a career-high 30 while Jennifer Leitner recorded a double-double with a 19-point, 10-rebound effort.
The Lady Rebels will face Utah in the Huntsman Center on Saturday. The Utes, fresh off a victory over San Diego State, lead the Mountain West standings with a 16-5 overall mark and a 7-1 record in the league.
