Rebels baseball team hosts No. 3 UCLA

The UNLV baseball team will take on third-ranked UCLA in a three-game series this weekend at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 3:05 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday's contests get under way at 1:05 p.m.
UNLV is 2-3 on the season. The Rebels opened the 2000 season with a three-game series against St. Mary's, Calif. UNLV lost the first two games, 8-5 and 13-6 and won the third game of the series, 3-1. The Rebels then split a two-game series against Southern Utah.
UCLA opened the season with a three-game series at Hawaii last week and swept the Rainbows by the scores of 15-3, 10-3, 9-3. On Wednesday the Bruins routed UC Santa Barbara 17-4.
UCLA was 31-31 overall last season and 13-11 in the Pacific-10. The Bruins lead the series against UNLV 18-11. The Bruins swept a three-game series against UNLV in 1997 at Wilson Stadium (7-4, 12-5 and 10-3).
UNLV's games are broadcast on KSHP (1400-AM).
