New York investor Mario Gabelli is continuing to build up his position in Las Vegas-based slot operator Jackpot Enterprises Inc.
A Tuesday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission indicated Gabelli's funds purchased more than 55,000 shares of Jackpot stock on Monday. Gabelli spent nearly $640,000 on the purchases, which increased his holdings in the company by 6.2 percent.
Gabelli's funds now control 984,900 shares of Jackpot stock, an 11.42 percent share of the company.
So far in February, Gabelli has purchased about 150,000 shares of Jackpot stock, spending $1.7 million.
