Cash flow, revenue soar for cable operator

ATLANTA -- Cox Communications, operator of the main Las Vegas cable TV system, reported fourth quarter earnings fell 64 percent from the year-ago quarter to $113.1 million or 18 cents per share.
Revenue, however, rose 48 percent to $721.8 million.
The current and year-ago numbers include gains from investments. Operating cash flow, a key barometer of the financial health of cable TV firms, jumped 46 percent to $291.1 million.
