Angel Anaya

Angel Anaya, 11 weeks, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 16, 1999, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Yessica and Juvenal Anaya, and four brothers, Jesus Moreno, Francisco Moreno, Ricky Anaya and Anthony Anaya, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Dolores Chiang of Las Vegas, Francisco Alcaraz of Los Angeles, Anarbol Anaya of Corona, Calif., and Esperanza Perez of Mexico.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10 a.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Alphonse Arnona Sr.

Alphonse Arnona Sr., 85, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 21, 1914, in New Orleans. A resident for 46 years, he was a retired boxman at the Sands, Tropicana, Horseshoe and Caesars Palace, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by one son, A.J. Arnona Jr. of Henderson; two brothers, Vincent Arnona of New Orleans and Angelo of Galveston, Texas; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Ruby Rhonda Bernal

Ruby Rhonda Bernal, 28, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for 24 years, she was born April 26, 1971, in San Antonio.

She is survived by her parents, Juanita and Charles M. Bernal, two brothers, Alexander Bernal and Charles M. Bernal, and two nephews, Alexander Bernal Jr. and Brandon Bernal, all of Las Vegas; and his grandfather, Domingo Bernal of San Antonio.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Arthur Lee Berry

Arthur Lee Berry, 21, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 9, 1978, in Portland, Ore. A resident for eight years, he was a cook and a 1996 graduate of Cimarron-Memorial High School.

He is survived by his mother, Sonia Meurer, one sister, Sherice Meurer, one brother, Andre Green, and his grandmother, Celina Mortimer, all of Oxnard, Calif.; and his great-grandmother, Isabel Villaneuva of Las Vegas.

Patsy Beth Bradbury

Patsy Beth Bradbury, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 15, 1935, in Wyoming. She was a dealer for 20 years.

She is survived by four daughters, Sandra Lynn Meirhaeghe, Kim Marie Sneva, Lorie Lee Hosman and Terri Lee Harden; one son, Kenneth Allen Ellithorpe; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Georgianna Ruth Cochran, 78, of Overton died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1921, in Chicago. A resident for 38 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ted; one son, Robert Cochran of Las Vegas; one daughter, Carole Welliver of California; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Matthew Rowland Daniels, 27, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 5, 1972, in New Jersey. A resident for 16 years, he was a bartender and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Sharyn; two brothers, Ryk and Michael; three sisters, Deana Daniels, Jessica Daniels and Sarah Daniels; and four nephews, Eric, Tyler, Joseph and Jordan.

Jeanette K. Denison, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 2, 1917, in North Dakota. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Don of Henderson and Darryl of Pahrump; two daughters, Debbie Dieters of North Las Vegas and Darla Denison of Las Vegas; two sisters, Edna Bray of Milwaukie, Ore., and Bernie Scheuble of Auburn, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Joe Flores, 59, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Kaufman, Texas. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired lathe operator in the aerospace industry and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; one son, Bret Flores, and one daughter, Belinda Flores, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Raymond Stanley Gray

Raymond Stanley Gray, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 11, 1924, in Vermont. A resident for 21 years, he was a local taxicab driver for many years, owned a catering business and was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Edith; one son, Gary Gray of Las Vegas; two daughters, Karlene Simmons of Colorado and Joanne Manio of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Everett E. Heinz

Everett E. Heinz, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 17, 1914, in Nebraska. A resident for 12 years, he was a member of the Masons and Elks.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Ellen Zatlyn of Las Vegas.

Len Hornsby, 76, of Las Vegas died Jan. 30. He was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Boston. A resident for 38 years, he was the executive director of the Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority.

He is survived by two sons, Evan Hornsby of Los Angeles and Michael Pratt of Denver; two daughters, Cyndi Jones of Colorado and Susan Buck of Oklahoma; two sisters, Louise Kaufman of Massachusetts and Rochelle Hornsby of Las Vegas; and numerous grandchildren.

Robert K. Larson, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 18, 1928, in Springfield, Mass. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired owner-operator of a janitorial service and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Keith Larson of Henderson and Craig Larson of Las Vegas; one daughter, Gail Enlow of Covina, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Mary Jo Miller

Mary Jo Miller, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 5, 1935, in Caliente. A lifelong resident, she was president of Lighting Specialists, vice president of Acme Electric, president of the Junior Mesquite Club, first president of Junior League and a member of California Chana Painters Association, a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and attended the University of Missouri.

She is survived by two daughters, Gina Miller-Porter and Angela Miller, one brother, Richard Ousley, and one sister, Julie Pilkington, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 Maryland Parkway. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

John L. Muscente, 62, of Las Vegas and Lewisburg, Tenn., died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1937, in Trenton, N.J. A winter resident for four years, he was a retired concession stand owner-operator and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; one daughter, Louanne Braytenbah of Lewisburg; one son, John C. Muscente of Phillips Ranch, Calif.; one brother, Anthony Muscente of Hopewell, N.J.; one sister, Angela Geurds of West Trenton; and four grandchildren.

Thelma Nelson, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 13, 1927, in Alabama. A resident for four years, she was a nurse's aide and publisher of the Good News for 50 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Ann Whitlock, Brenda Joyce Taylor and Barbra Jean Nelson; one son, Billy Vernell; one sister, Minnie Tolliver; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Ellen O'Neil, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for 2 1/2 years, she was born Oct. 17, 1912, in Ellendale, Del.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Fortier of Las Vegas and Ellen Mertikas of Henderson; one son, Howard O'Neil of Neptune, N.J.; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Sam Harry Pachter, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 18, 1927, in Elgin, Ill. A resident for six years, he was a self-employed structural engineer for 40 years, a World War II Army veteran, a volunteer at MountainView Hospital and past master of Ionic Lodge 520.

He is survived by his wife, Seline; two daughters, Elisa Link of Las Vegas and Arlene Lafferty of Los Angeles; two sisters, Bea Gorelick of Chicago and Dorothy Pershing of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey L.; two sons, Christopher Platta of Fanwood, N.J., and Cory Schepisi of Redford, Va.; one daughter, Samantha Platta of Hawley, Pa.; his parents, Frank and Maria Platta of Elizabeth, N.J.; one brother, Edward F. Harmon L. Preston, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 30, 1937, in Texas. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired wholesale salesman and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; one daughter, Kathy Teall of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Toni McDonald of Las Vegas and Karan Maruta of Redondo Beach, Calif.; his mother, Audrey Gillis of Paris, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Sharon Richers, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 20, 1946, in Fort Madison, Iowa. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.
