Muriel Stevens' shopping column appears Wednesdays. Her dining column appe Fridays. Reach her at muriel@vegas.com or 259-4080.

There are just a few day's left to come up with some neat ideas for Valentine's Day, but don't fret. Here are some suggestions that will make any Valentine's Day special:

Massage for two: Make up your own Valentine's Day package of a day at a spa for two, followed by dinner at a romantic restaurant. Caesars Palace spa has massage rooms for two. Talk about building memories: What could be more romantic? The Four Seasons also has massage rooms for two, but you have to be a hotel guest to get a reservation.

Always in touch: Sprint PCS has come up with a Valentine's Day offer of two wireless phones for the price of one. His and hers matching phones mean never having to say you're sorry you missed a call.

But there's more. Sprint is sponsoring a love-themed blood drive for United Blood Services on Sunday at the Sprint PCS store in the Best of the West shopping center at Rainbow and Lake Mead. Make a donation of blood and you can make free long distance calls to anywhere in the country. Donors also get free Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee and other refreshments, a free photo with Cupid (a regular blood donor) and the opportunity to take advantage of the two-for-one wireless phone deal. Blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health. Call 228-GIVE.

Here's how the two-for-one offer works: Buy two of the three available phone models ($99.95, each). Mail in the $100 rebate coupon. The rebate covers the price of one phone. Service package prices start at $29.95 and include free long distance calls.

Artful walking: What woman friend wouldn't be thrilled to receive a pair of ICON shoes? The leather of the smashing shoes is imprinted with designs by famous artists. It took ICON creator Peter Traynor, a filmmaker by trade, four years to develop the process that applies the art to the leather, and to find just the right craftsmen and artisans. The results are fabulous. A personal favorite is the side-laced walking shoe, Girlfriends, with art by Gustav Klimt.

The ergonomically-engineered insoles provide cushioning and support; the Italian-sculptured outsoles are light and flexible. A salesperson assured me that the ICON process is durable and scuff resistant. ICON shoes are available in reserved limited editions ($260) or signed and numbered limited editions ($500).

ICON shoes are sold at Neiman Marcus in the Fashion Show mall and at the Shoe Collection shop at Bellagio. Designs for men are also available.

Titillate with a turtle: Slow, but sure like lasting love, turtles have staying power. So, share your love for your sweetie, and show your tender side by adopting a sea turtle for Valentine's Day, because "turtles are truly forever." Make a $25 contribution in a loved one's name and they'll receive from the Sea Turtle Survival League: a personalized adoption certificate, sea turtle fact sheet, a sticker, a magnet and a one-year subscription to the STSL newsletter.

What you learn about these rakish, romantic reptiles will surprise. Sea turtles may be cold-blooded, but they are certainly warmhearted!

Proceeds from turtle "adoptions" help support the nonprofit Caribbean Conservation Corp., dedicated to the preservation of marine turtles and other coastal and marine wildlife -- call 800-678-7853.
