Prominent New York investor Mario Gabelli reported a sizable increase in his stake in Las Vegas-based Jackpot Enterprises Inc.
Documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday indicate several funds controlled by Gabelli purchased 94,000 shares over the past week. Gabelli spent nearly $1 million, at an average of $10.61 per share.
The purchases increased Gabelli's holdings in the company by about 11 percent.
Gabelli's funds now hold 896,600 shares of Jackpot, a 10.39 percent stake in the company.
