StumbleRebels’ Malec named MWC tennis player of week

UNLV's Katarina Malec has been named the first Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. A native of Warsaw, Poland, Malec helped the Lady Rebels post a pair of 8-1 victories in the opening week of dual match play. She won two singles matches and two doubles matches at the top positions. Ranked No. 23 in the nation in singles, Malec improved to 15-3 this season.
