Letter: Decreased demand would lower our gas prices
Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000 | 9:01 a.m.
I suggest that we drive the most economical car that we have and cut down on unnecessary trips; carpool when practical; stay closer to home rather than taking long trips. In other words, that we use it as sparingly as possible. If treated in the manner similar to the late '70s, we may help force prices down due to the resulting increase in supply. The oil companies need to get the message in the only way they understand -- lack of sales leading to lack of profit. Makes sense to me.
