UNLV junior right-handed pitcher Luke Anderson has been chosen the Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Anderson wins the award on the heels of perhaps his best performance in a Rebel uniform. In his first career start, he led UNLV to its first victory of the season, a 3-1 decision over St. Mary's. Anderson pitched 7 2/3 innings, struck out 11 batters and allowed just two hits and no earned runs.
