Las Vegas area fishing report

LAKE MEAD: The fishing has been typical for this time of year with warm-water fish being found in deep water and unwilling to bite. Boaters report that they are seeing stripers in schools at around 120 feet.
Rainbow trout are still being caught following the Nevada Division of Wildlife's weekly plants in the Boulder Basin. There have been no reports of crappie being caught in the Overton Arm during the past week.
LAKE MOHAVE: Two impressive catches of striped bass were seen by Division of Wildlife creel clerks during the past week. Last Wednesday an 18 1/2-pound striper was caught by an angler who was trolling an AC Plug at the lower end of Davis Basin. On Saturday a 40 1/2-pound striper was caught in the same area by a boater who was casting an AC Plug near the shoreline.
EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR: The ice is 3-5 inches thick and anglers have had fair success by fishing near the boat dock where the ice conditions are good. Last week a two-pound brown trout was caught near the dock. A fresh layer of snow covers the lake.
