Enthusiasts invited to aircraft meeting
Local aviation enthusiasts are invited to attend the first general meeting of the newly formed Experimental Aircraft Association at 7 p.m. on Monday at the North Las Vegas Airport Terminal in the Grand Canyon Room. 'Moulin Rouge' to be held at country club
Nevada Women's History Project salutes Black History Month with the program "The Moulin Rouge -- from Inception to the Present" 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday at the Desert Pines Country Club, 3415. Call 457-4577.
Stardust to serve up SCI's 13th annual banquet
Safari Club International's Desert-Las Vegas Chapter will hold their 13th annual banquet 4 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the Stardust hotel-casino. Tickets are $60 through Monday and $75 thereafter. For more information, call Dave Small at 731-2330 or Hagan Thompson at 873-1094.
Council to host 15th annual dinner
The Knights of Columbus, Council 5693, will hold its 15th annual pasta dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way in the Monsignor Lavoy Hall. Proceeds will be donated to the Happy Times program for disabled children and young adults. Call 870-8031.
Maddux of Braves to speak at area school
Atlanta Braves pitcher Greg Maddux, Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Mike Maddux and retired Boston Red Sox second baseman Marty Barrett will be the featured guests for Faith Lutheran Junior-Senior High School's baseball field dedication 2 p.m. on Friday at 2015 S. Hualapai Way.
The public is invited to celebrate the dedication of the Bill and Elsie Koerwitz Baseball Field. The Koerwitzs donated close to $200,000 for the baseball field's development. Call 804-4412.
Boulder City to hold workshop
A baby-sitting workshop is being held Monday at the Boulder City Parks and Recreation Department. Student will be taught safety, etiquette, children's activities and more. Participants will put together their own baby-sitting kits. Call 293-9256.
Lake Mead rec area presents free hikes
Lake Mead National Recreation Area is offering the following programs free of charge, however, reservations are required. For more information call 293-8990.
