Convicted daughter-killer gets second trial

Lonnie Ray Tavares, 24, was convicted last April of suffocating his daughter, Chela, two years ago. He was sentenced to life in prison with possible parole after 20 years.
But the Nevada Supreme Court ordered a new trial because of jury misconduct.
Prosecutors contend Tavares killed the infant because he didn't like the sound of her crying.
An autopsy showed the baby also suffered broken ribs, a broken collar bone, and broken arm and a skull fracture.
