California linebacker still considering UNLV

Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) linebacker Traison Lewis, who was an honorable mention choice on the Sun's Super 11 squad, said he will decide tonight whether he will sign a national letter of intent with UNLV on Wednesday.
The 6-2, 220-pound Lewis visited UNLV over the weekend. He also is considering USC, Wisconsin and Oregon State.
"I haven't made my choice yet," Lewis, was was rumored to be committed to USC, said on Monday night. "I had a nice trip (to UNLV). The highlight was meeting (Rebel strength coach) Mark Philippi. I'd seen him several times in the World Strongest Man competitions on ESPN."
Lewis had 105 tackles and 14 sacks and also forced nine fumbles in leading Rancho Cucamonga to a CIF Southern Section Division V title.
Another player who visited UNLV over the weekend, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly defensive end Charles Jones, said he was leaning toward signing with the Rebels on Wednesday over San Diego State.
Jones was a second-team Dream Team pick by the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
Meanwhile, Cheyenne High School defensive tackle Lynn McGruder was meeting with friends and family on Monday night to discuss his college options. The 6-2, 290-pound first-team Super 11 choice visited Tennessee, Wisconsin, Texas, Oklahoma and UNLV and said he may not sign a letter of intent on Wednesday, the first day of the signing period for high school football recruits.
