Richard Maurice Austin

Richard Maurice Austin, 54, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday. He was born Jan. 30, 1946, in Price, Utah. A resident for 31 years, he was a truck driver for a paving company and a member of Teamsters Local 631 for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela; two sons, Shaun Austin of Henderson and Jeff Austin of North Las Vegas; one daughter, Kelli Swartzel of Pahrump; three sisters, Joy Shiedler of Grand Junction, Colo., Betty Gerth of Henderson and Ruby Gale of Roosevelt, Utah; one brother, James Austin of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Saturday in the LDS Shadow Creek Ward at Clayton Street and Washburn Road. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Erna Calvert

Erna Calvert, 85, of Las Vegas died Dec. 19 in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 13, 1915, in West Germany. A resident for many years, she was a pantry worker at Caesars Palace.

She is survived by her companion, Ranata Thompson of Las Vegas; and one granddaughter, Aliv Tantia of Muenster, Germany.

Graveside services were scheduled at 11:30 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Marina Y. Cannon

Marina Y. Cannon, 49, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 30, 1951, in Fort Smith Camp Chaffee, Ark. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired owner-operator of an automotive repair shop.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Jason O. Jaeger and Damon D. Jaeger, her father, Vaughan M. Cannon Sr., and one brother, Vaughan M. Cannon Jr., all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

The family suggests donations to Marina Cannon Memorial Fund, Bank West of Nevada, Account No. 031008352 for contributions to Shade Tree Shelter and Safe Nest.

Charles R. Duncan

Charles R. Duncan, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Springfield, Mo. A resident for 16 years, he was a postal service employee in St. Louis and a Navy chief petty officer.

He is survived by his wife, Dora; one son, Richard Duncan of Fremont, Calif.; one daughter, Theresa Duncan of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Dennis Jay Foster

Dennis Jay Foster, 53, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 3, 1947, in Alton, Ill. A resident for 35 years, he was a writer for a publishing company and a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Candy; and one sister, Connie Michael of Las Vegas.

Louis P. Giannakos

Louis P. Giannakos, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Henderson. He was born Jan. 31, 1933, in Greece. A resident for many years, he was a retired fisherman.

Graveside services were scheduled at 10:30 a.m. today in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Robert Goldstein

Robert Goldstein, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 7, 1924, in Plymouth, Pa. A resident for 6 1/2 years, he was a retired audiologist and professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin, a World War II Army veteran, past president of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, a member of the American Board of EEG and Neurophysiology and a fellow of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf.

He is survived by his wife, Gay; two sons, Mark Goldstein of Las Vegas and Neal Goldstein of Detroit; one brother, Milton Goldstein of New Jersey; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests donations to the Midbar Kodesh Temple, 6000 S. Eastern, Suite B, Las Vegas.

Federico Gonzales

Federico Gonzales, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 20, 1922, in the Philippines. A resident for 16 years, he was a hotel porter.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia R.; seven daughters, Adoracion and Normina, both of the Philippines, Milagrina of Chicago and Yolanda, Lilibeth, Jovy and Raquel, all of Las Vegas; three sons, Dario and Noel, both of Chicago, and Roberto of the Philippines; one brother, Lauro of the Philippines; three sisters, Lourdes and Corazon, both of the Philippines, and Emer of Las Vegas; 28 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial followed in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Edna T. Horsley

Edna T. Horsley, 88, of Pahrump died Wednesday in Pahrump. She was born March 24, 1912, in St. George, Utah. A resident of Southern Nevada (in Las Vegas until 1977 and most recently in Pahrump) for 56 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Colleen Smith and Bernice Horsley, both of Pahrump, and Carol Jenson of St. George; one sister, Afton Hogan of Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Pahrump LDS chapel. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Robert Klabacka

Robert Klabacka, 70, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 10, 1921, in Racine, Wis. A resident for 21 years, he had a law degree, was founder of the Diesel Truck Driver Training School in Sun Prairie, Wis., in 1963 and was a World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; six sons, Jerry, Michael, Mark and John, all of Las Vegas, and Jeffrey and Mathew, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Eugene Klabacka, and one sister, Alice Paulson, both of Wisconsin; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.

Joseph A. Manto

Joseph A. Manto, 82, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 21, 1918, in Chicago. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired letter carrier, a Korean War Army veteran, a member of Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one daughter, Mildred Fortunato of Santa Barbara, Calif.; one son, Carmen P. Micale of Syracuse, N.Y.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Juanita A. Miller

Juanita A. Miller, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in an Arizona hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Harmony, Ind. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired real estate saleswoman, an artist, a member of Order of the Eastern Star Southgate Chapter 18, Areme Club, Daughters of the Nile-El Giza Temple and Tin Lizzies and vice president of the El Zelzah Temple Honore Ladies Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet Osif of Phoenix; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Philip Vincent Moore

Philip Vincent Moore, 43, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 17, 1954, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 43 years, he was a hotel waiter.

He is survived by his father, John Moore Sr., and one brother, John Moore Jr., both of Las Vegas; and four sisters, Jean Trefes of Westerly, R.I., and Ruth Kiley, Marilyn Hill and Jacqueline Marsh, all of Las Vegas.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Frances N. Peterson

Frances N. Peterson, 62, of Boulder City died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Graves County, Ky. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Charles O.; four daughters, Connie Young of La Puente, Calif., Dawn Jones of Cedar City, Utah, Pam Loomis of Las Vegas and Cindy Beckington of Phoenix; three sons, Robert Young of Memphis, Tenn., Wes Peterson of Cedar City and Chuck Peterson Jr. of Boulder City; nine sisters and brothers; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2:45 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Frank E. Prochaska

Frank E. Prochaska, 92, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born July 14, 1908, in New York City. A resident for 15 years, he was a supervisor in the aerospace industry.

He is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Resler of Las Vegas; four brothers, Emil Prochaska, Fred Prochaska, Joseph Prochaska and Thomas Prochaska; one sister, Ethel Taudell; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Raymond Frank Riley

Raymond Frank Riley, 52, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 14, 1948, in Hattiesburg, Miss. A resident for 20 years, he was an Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one brother, Ralph Riley of Chicago; and one sister, Mary Heard of Las Vegas.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Cody Richard Sibley

Cody Richard Sibley, 5, of Las Vegas died Friday in Carson, Calif. He was born Nov. 30, 1995, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Greg and Tammy Sibley, and one sister, Katelynn Sibley, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Chuck and Karen Walker of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Dottie.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Charles Strahm Tabor

Charles Strahm Tabor, 52, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A maintenance supervisor for Rebel Oil Co. and an Air Force veteran, he was born Nov. 1, 1948, in Honolulu.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Benjamin Tabor and Russell Tabor, and two daughters, Nicole Rubio and Carolyn Tabor, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Becky Tabor of San Francisco; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to 1 p.m. services Saturday in the LDS Heritage Ward at Osage Avenue and Pecos Road. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

John Michael Temple

John Michael Temple, 57, of Henderson died Nov. 30 in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1942. A resident for 15 years, he was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union.

Adam B. 'Barney' Walters

Adam B. "Barney" Walters, 83, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born April 7, 1917, in Canada. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired nuclear physicist.

He is survived by his wife, Doreen R.; one daughter, Leitha Grant of Akron, Ohio; one sister, Valerie Carney of Toronto; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd.
