Timothy Wilmott, eastern division president of Harrah's Entertainment, will become president effective Jan. 1, said current president, Wallace Barr.
Since 1997, Wilmott has overseen six Harrah's properties: Harrah's Atlantic City, Showboat Atlantic City, Harrah's Joliet, Harrah's East Chicago, Harrah's Cherokee and Players Island Casino Metropolis.
Wilmott also serves on the boards of the New Jersey State Aquarium, the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce and the Jersey Shore Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is chairman of the Atlantic County chapter of the National Conference for Community and Justice.
The association was created to give the city's 12 casinos a unified voice in Trenton and elsewhere. The group lobbied for legislative initiatives like 24-hour gambling, sports betting and other issues.
Barr is executive vice president of the eastern region for Park Place Entertainment Corp.
